Six Sentence Sunday

Time for Six Sentence Sunday! To recap, last week Dark had pulled out a necklace to show Whimsy. For those who haven't read Whimsy, we learn pretty early on that Dark is the only survivor of the destroyed planet Dark Sphere.

The pendant was faintly oblong and flat. It appeared to be made of gold. The surface was etched with cloud shapes. As she watched, the clouds scudded over the oval. She swallowed as she realized what she was looking at. This was what was left of Dark Sphere.

  1. Interesting start. You've certainly captured the grimness of the situation. The only part I question is the use of the word faintly in your first sentence. It seems like the pendant is either flat and oblong, or it's not. Just a thought. Nice job!

  2. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Jess. Maybe I should have said "flat and faintly oblong." I didn't want to say round since they say that Earth is really more of an egg shape. Since Dark Sphere would have been a life supporting planet, I wanted it to the same shape.
